While the holidays can be a tiny bit stressful, there is so much to enjoy and be thankful for. The hubby and I hosted Christmas at our house and had a wonderful time enjoying family, friends, and best of all, gifts. Just kidding! No, not really. Anyway, the best part of the night was seeing my little nephew open gifts with Santa.
New Year’s Eve was quietly celebrated with family, eating, drinking, playing games and watching fireworks on tv. It’s amazing how once midnight strikes, we feel like we have been given another chance to accomplish new things and achieve new (or old) goals. I normally don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I save them for my birthday, when I, unintentionally, reflect on my life. This year, I decided to set a few, hopefully attainable, goals. #1: de-stress and become a calmer, less anxious person. #2 cook more. And #3, the resolution of all resolutions, exercise more. Considering all the eating that goes on around this time of the year, no resolution list would be complete without it.
So far, I have been really good about not letting things get to me. Major resolution success in my book. I haven’t been so lucky with the cooking and exercising. The aforementioned lingering holiday feeling is not helping. Blame it on the lights.
What are your resolutions for 2012? Any luck keeping them thus far?
Happy New Year! Happy New You!
